This website and blog is intended to foster a community of business people and academics interested in issues in selling service, especially B2B or high-end services such as financial planning. The goal is to advance the discussion of selling service & facilitiate communication between academics studying service marketing or selling and those actually selling service.

83% of the U.S. GDP is now service; no wonder there is a new paradigm called the service dominant logic of marketing! Although there is now a service component to all product sales, selling service should different from selling goods.

From my experience selling service (institutional bonds and derivatives, then enterprise software) and my research into sales management and service innovation I believe that:

Every Monday and Wednesday morning there will be a posting from me or from a guest author on a topical or long term theme in NSD or updates reacting to comments on posts or on current events or new articles.

The success of the effort will depend on interested parties who read and add their thoughts and comments. I appreciate any suggestions on how to make this site more effective:
